i can relate to things being too binary. this wasnt online it was irl but when Star Trek Discovery first came out i gave it a shot, wasnt my thing. no biggie. sometimes things just arent your thing...but when a friend asked if i wanted to watch with her and i said (word for word) "naw, aint my thing"..i got a 15 minute screeching lecture about how i must be a racist because i dont like it and then she never spoke to me again. like...wtf!?!. how does "aint my thing" escalate to "wheres youre white hood bitch?" i love Michelle Yeoh to death and beyond but the style and the script didnt grab me. big whoop. it doesnt make it bad. just it doesnt hold my attention. 🤷♀️
It’s like when people are talking about how much they like a band, but someone just has to say the band sucks. Why not just not say anything at all?
