An absolutely SHITTY movie he was in that nobody ever talks about is Meatballs. TERRIBLE teen summercamp movie, but it was clear they hired Murray and basically said, "Here's an outline of the story. Now, just have fun." And he HIT it
FYI, Corey, regarding tiers on Substack, don’t forget to mention that folks can become a “founding member”. I recently did this because of what you said when you read my POA letter last week! Money talks, beeyotch!
Lost in Translation is fabulous. Not really a comedy though.I love Caddyshack but felt like he was the co-star who stole the spotlight on that one. Stripes is so fantastic
Ok I have two choices. Purley comedy - Ghostbusters. I was 19 (yeah I'm old) when it came out and watched it 100 times since and still love his lines in it to this day (It's true, this man has no dick.). Second - Where The Buffalo Roam. Being from KY and a HUGE Hunter S. Thompson fan, this influenced me big time. BTW, I think you need to do this more often with other stars ie - Michael Keaton since he has the sequel to Beetlejuice coming out soon. Keep up the good work brother!
“Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” was about the funniest book I ever ever read my whole life. I did read it in college however, when I was doing lots of drugs, but that opening paragraph practically had me pissing in my pants.
Gonna have to listen to this one after dinner with my mom tonight but I’m gonna go ahead and shout out “Quick Change” a seemingly forgotten movie with Murray, Gena Davis, pre-breakdown Randy Quaid, and Jason Robards. It’s worth tracking down to watch.
I can't believe that "Scrooged" wasn't mentioned, either by Corey or anywhere in the comments!
Serving in the Army,Stripes was my favorite movie.

I LOVE ALL Wes Anderson movies but Bill Murray was never the star in any of them.
Stripes. No contest (I’m pretty old, though).
Also Moonrise Kingdom
I really like Lost in Translation

Bank Guard: "What the hell kinda clown are you?"
Clown (Murray): "The cry'n in inside kind, I guess."
I had completely forgotten about this one! Good choice.
