Oh lord - wait until he has his first real breakup. We are going through it here with our teens and my heart literally rips itself out of my own chest when I see what they’re going through.

Hey Corey -- I'ma be a Boomer for a moment. Are there "digital seats" for the 3/2 middle school fundraiser? I would love to watch a recording and support the school.

I was never a parent but I can easily imagine the horrified helplessness felt by a mother or father when they first realize that as passionately as they want to protect their child from misery and harm -- they can't always do it. The love someone feels for a baby is something that I must imagine (again -- no experience here) is all-consuming emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and physically.

I admire the job you're doing with Mister Bain. Hearing a baby cry puts me in a state of abject terror and my unspoken response is something like "For the love of God, hurry up and learn how to speak English so I can actually HELP you!" And there YOU are, able to interpret baby-cries. I. Am. So. Impressed.

re Naked Gun. That movie is a fond memory. I was involved with an English professor during the 70s, 80s, and early 90s. You'd think that two aspiring intellectuals would seek out morbid black and white movies with subtitles -- and sometimes you'd be right. But we both loved "Airplane!" and "Naked Gun".

One of our dating rituals that required some careful thought from me was choosing which movie to see. It could really ruin an evening if I really appreciated a movie that he hated from start to finish*. (Do not ever, EVER watch a war movie with an actual combat veteran.) Once I thoroughly pissed him off when he suggested a movie and I said, "Oh, I don't think you'll like that one, I hear it has a happy ending."

*Elephant Man, E.T., Life of Brian, Full Metal Jacket. Yep. I had to watch "E.T." with the one person in the whole wide world who HATED the movie.

as someone who works in consumer products for entertainment studios, I have a negative response to seth mcfarlane because his production company was a pain to work with.

I rememeber watching naked gun high school with my friends who were into old movies in 2009 and really enjoying it, so i'm tentatively looking forward to this.
