I remember the wreck. I am a Ken Schrader fan. He was involved in the wreck. He was the first one to check on Dale after the smoke settled. I'll never forget his response or Darrell Waltrip responding to his little brother winning and saying he hopes Dale is ok.

9/11 was a huge event. Without it, we wouldn’t have invaded Iraq and suffered the collateral damages it still causes. Also, if Al Gore had been President, we’d be dealing in a whole lot more realistic way with climate change.

We had a recession baby in 2010. I was laid off my whole pregnancy and my husband got laid off when he was two months old. So we just said whoever gets a job first will work. The other one will stay home with him. I ended up getting the job and my husband stayed home with our son. We only had one car so he was literally stuck at home with the baby for 2 years, but I feel like it was better that it was him. He played with him all the time, I feel like I would have been trying to teach him and all of those milestones and worry that I wasn't doing things the right way, and he just played with him lol.

When I was in college, my fellow political science majors and I would chess out the “what if JFK hadn’t been assassinated” scenario. We would posit we wouldn’t have entered the Vietnam War, counter culture wouldn’t have evolved the same way in the 60’s, etc.

This whole rant made me think about Stephen King’s 11/22/63. In it, the past always tried to course correct when Jake tried to change it. This seemed to be what you were talking about with the 9/11 mention. One extremely silly thing I’ve always thought is that without 9/11, Dennis Miller would still be funny. He went from being my favorite stand up to a right wing nut almost overnight. Anyhow, things like this rant are always a great rabbit hole to make you think. Good stuff.

A wrestling one: what if Hulk hadn't snitched to Vince abt Jesse Ventura's plan to unionize? Imagining if the wrestlers were able to negotiate for healthcare and better working conditions, I think some people could have avoided tragically young deaths! It would have changed the landscape for sure, maybe even politically since 45 has been wffs (weirdo friends forever) with Vince since the 80s. It's not as universal as the OJ one, but that decision by the Hulkster is still screwing wrestlers over today.

So, Corey, please don’t hate me for what I’m about to say!

I was home on maternity leave, sitting on my couch watching the race, and holding my new baby boy. Although I’m a huge, long-time NASCAR fan...brace yourself...I was never an Earnhardt fam. (I know, I know, people sneeze and someone inevitably says, “Dale bless you.”) If you can bear to read on, I was watching the race and he was being a particularly big turd that day and when he wrecked at the end I cheered! (Which woke the baby unfortunately) Imagine my shock and now more than two decades of guilt that I was actually HAPPY about something that killed Dale!!! I might not have been a fan but I never wished him dead!!! 😩

As for butterfly wing flapping, I completely agree with you about 45 being a different person if trump had not been artificially elevated In intelligence, leadership ability, and strength through reality tv. Too many people can’t tell truth from fiction or understand almost all such programs are at least somewhat outlined and scripted plus heavily edited.

Have a great weekend!

No need to think I’ll hate you..... I was a Jeff Gordon guy 🤣. Obviously Dale’s legacy is awesome and now that I’m older I appreciate him more, but I always pulled for Gordon cause all my friends hated him and were Dale fans lol

PS...Gordon (driving the DuPont rainbow Chevy) was long known as “The Paint Prick” in my house. I can’t believe i forgot about that when you mentioned him yesterday. This getting old stuff is a bitch... 😐

That’s awesome! 😂 I was a Gordon hater too until he had his daughter. Being a family man changed him for the better imo. I was a Mark Martin girl all the ways that count.
