Hey y’all! For your Friday night entertainment, I decided to spruce up my normal Park Rants into a video for you to enjoy! Topics include Elon Musk’s Cybertruck, Panera Bread’s Lemonade, and this comment a lady left me on Instagram that is really buggin’ me lol.
I had to come back to this post after two things happened: I made a hittin' remark to my sweetheart about the Tesla truck, and Marques Brownlee did a review I thought was worth watching.
Second, here's the story and the remark: We decided one night to head over to our favorite Mexican restaurant, and as we pulled into the parking lot, we saw it - the ugly Lara Croft pointed pixel chested Tesla truck. (In a mostly crowded lot, it looked like other diners had deliberately avoided parking next to it, so maybe that's an unintended benefit - git you a Tesla truck and the eyesore nature of it will repel others away from you.) We looked at each other and said, simultaneously, "Damn," both wearing mirrored expressions like we'd just smelt a skunk. I wondered aloud, "Is it at least quiet like a typical electric vehicle?" Later, as we were eating dinner, my sweetheart pointed out that the truck was leaving, and that it was, in fact, pretty quiet as it proceeded out of the parking lot. I looked him right in the eye, shook my head and said the first thing that came to mind, "Silent, but ugly."
As a white woman, I both like Panera but also have no idea who "Daddy Yankee" is. Also, a standard cup of coffee has about 100 mg of caffeine but that's only an 8 ounce cup. Most mugs are about 14 oz, so my 2 mugs of coffee in the morning (especially the Major Dickason's blend I get from Peet's, my beans ground to an espresso powder, brewed up with the "strong" setting on my coffee maker) have about 350 mg of caffeine. So in the grand scheme of things, 380 mg of caffeine is child's play. I don't think the 2 folk who died were very healthy if they can't tolerate 2 cups of coffee.
FYI absolutely NOTHING offensive in the video!! There are far to many "pearl clutchers" in this world just trolling the internet looking, nay, HOPING to be offended, so much so that they claim offense for no fuckin' reason. You keep on keepin' on, Corey, knowing you are adored by far more than those who find offense.
OMG the video is hilarious! I'm a white woman who, LITERALLY, just got home from having a bagel at Panera after taking a dance aerobics class where- you guessed it- they played Daddy Yankee and I was wearing yoga pants! The person who thinks the video is offensive had no sense of humor and you need to ignore them completely. Now, I'm going to go light one of my Yankee Candles and drink my Starbucks. Keep being you Corey because you are fucking delightful!
I’m just offended(not really) that you said the Delorean came out because of Back to the Future. Deloreans came out years before the movie. They even went bankrupt several years before the movie.

Based on "I didn't want to watch the whole video," it had to be the Panera part.
I think as soon as it sounded as though the deceased was at fault, she started hearing all the GOP talking heads robotically reciting, "tort reform, McDonald's hot coffee, blah blah." I mentally brace for the disinformation to follow as soon as I hear "hot coffee." I feel as though I have the duty to educate because it's a false talking point and I know it to be false.
I saw a couple videos in her reel and she appears to be Leftist -- victim-blaming would be a huge offense.
If Panera had a hair on their ass (how’s THAT for a redneck expression?) they would lean into this situation and change the name to Panera’s Killer Lemonade.
I'm not the demographic that correlates to that video but I watched it through a couple times and don't see the offense. After ruminating a bit, my theory is that she felt you were making light of the death of a vulnerable adult 🤷♀️

Fuck Elon Musk and all those mid-range shitty American restaurants like Panera. Maybe he could make himself useful and develop a cyber truck that runs on Panera’s lemonade.
