Hey y’all! It’s another history-based park rant! Today we talk about a tiny decision that had a MASSIVE effect on our world! How do I think this relates to all us normal folk? Listen and find out! (And feel free to tell me I’m wrong!) Love y’all!
Fun rant! Another thing that Washington did that might not have happened had he not been around: he not only resigned his commission as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army in 1783 (instead of holding onto military power as long as he wanted it), but he refused to run for a third term as President - at that point his popularity was such that he could have all but declared himself king.
King George III was shocked, supposedly calling Washington "the greatest character of his age."
A little Juneteenth extra credit reading 🙂

Thanks, Corey. As usual, informative and entertaining. And made me think about decisions I’m making in my life now. 😎
That was stellar Corey. A otherwise shit day was made a bit brighter. Cheers!
