Friends and neighbors I have nothing more to say except for that Jimmy Buffett sincerely meant the world to me and my family and it’s going to take more than one sermon to grieve him properly.
When I finally worked up the courage to play Incommunicado, my favorite Buffett song, I just broken down legitimately weeping. Not crying, weeping. No shame, ever.
No need to apologize... The one that got to me was John Prine. I cried like a baby and I was 68 at the time. For over 40 years he supplied the soundtrack to my life. As for Brother Jimmy , after "A1A" he became too commercial for me, but I will play that today and let the tears fall ! I suggest you find your favorite today, sing along with it, and sing a few to your baby son while your at it.
“We’ll barrel roll into the sun just for starters” ~ Brother JB. Perhaps we should use the Book of Buffett as our guide today. Hang in there Pastor Petey, Jimmy’s gone - we’re all miserable. 😢
Don't you dare apologize, I'm crying with you. Been a parrot head for decades. His music just speaks to you. Had a friend years ago won a radio contest and won an evening on his boat with an intimate concert. He said Jimmy was as nice as he appeared and they enjoyed some of the devils lettuce. A good time was had by all. Hugs Pastor
Take it easy on yourself Pastor! I vividly remember being 5 or 6 years old and my daddy playing Jimmy cassettes in the rental car on our vacations. Jimmy was always "vacation music". Mr brother and I would crack up at the lyrics. So much silliness and so much happiness brother Jimmy did spread.
But as he so rightly put it - "come Monday, it'll be alright".
It’s weird to like this, but I hope it’s understood that it’s an “I agree it’s a sad time” kind of like and not an “I like that it’s a sad time” like. 😢💔
If these walls could talk
I don't know what they'd say
They've seen some accidental
Masquerades
But it's no Surprise
Dances Til Dawn
Heroes long gone
Let that guitar play
💔
Love you Cho

Corey, in no way do you have to apologize. Buffet hits differently because music hits different. Bowie was mine.
Take your time and come to us when you’re ready. ❤️

So sorry, Pastor Petey! When you’re able, please express my deepest sympathy and condolences to Brother Corey as well. 💔
It’s a very sad time.💔
