Corey, I agree with you 100%. Marriage is a small, nonprofit business concern. Years ago, it was made between 2 families and it was about combining family assets, etc. Note that most rich people marry other rich people (Ivanka Trump + Jared Kushner), as well as royal marriages, etc. And, seriously, why do so many people gaf about what others are doing anyway, if no one is harmed? Every Dem and progressive Independent voted for this bill. They would have gone further to protect the rights of our LBGTQ neighbors, but they knew they had to get at least 10 Republicans to vote yes for it to get passed the filibuster in the senate.
Only 12 Republicans out of 50 voted for the Marriage Equality Act.
