I’m slightly disappointed the written version of the essay doesn’t literally have the “Written by Corey Ryan Forrester. That’s me!” part in it. If I ever write anything I put my name on again maybe I’ll include a “That’s me!” as if I always get excited to see my own name.
Is it still stealing jokes if I’m intentionally making it dumber and make less sense than the original?
When you said “pert near,” it reminded me of my grandpa! He used to say that, and I haven’t heard that phrase since he died more than 50 years ago. He was born and raised in Montana, but some of his grandparents were from Kentucky, so maybe that’s where the phrase came from. Maybe? Anyway, thanks for the aural blast from my past!
