I believe I am a highly functioning depressive but one thing that always snapped out of that mental miasma was a genuine problem! Such as car trouble, a malfunctioning appliance ... something that required a practical solution.
Very thoughtful stuff and you're right about not remembering negative things from last week! I do sometimes think about what people must be going through in Ukraine and other places and how lucky I (and most of us) are not to have to deal with that. Overall, I don't let things really get to me, I know that there will be great days that will make tough times totally worth it. It always happens that way to me, anyway.
It is a good reminder to focus on what matters. When negativity crosses my mind, I bless it, see if there is a nugget that I need to learn, and let it go if it is stinking thinking.
My father was always very good at helping me see things this way. He would always chug through the worst possible scenario, step-by-step, and make it doable and manageable, so I was always pretty much prepared for everything.
Great advice. Sincerely. I have a similar tactic I try to use, especially when something trivial or petty pisses me off. I give myself exactly one minute to be pissed off about it but no more. Works pretty well most of the time but even that minute is a minute wasted. Going to try your thing this coming week.
I love that tip, thanks for sharing!!
Wonderful advice!
Definition of a cliché: Trite and true.
(You're welcome.)

Love you!
One of my favorite sayings has always been:
1) Don’t sweat the small stuff
2) It’s all small stuff

Living in the now and letting things go. Biggest lessons I wish I would have tried harder to apply earlier in my life. My "code" now! 😉💜
Great advice. I appreciate you sharing it with us.
