Do you ever listen to Old Radio Dramas? There are some great stations on the TuneIn Radio app that streams them 24/7. "Radio Once More" is one of my main stations.

They play Dragnet, Suspense, The Whistler and a bunch more. They also mix in comedy and detective shows too.

Listen to them all the time! They are a big inspiration for me wanting to do audio dramas!

I miss cicadas! I had no idea the sound meant they are doing the sex. *The More You Know*

We got our first rain of the season here in PDX today and I literally danced in the driveway. 🌧️

And OH. MY. GOD. “Tuesdays with Corey” is a play on “Tuesdays with Morrie” and I only realized that when I heard you say it just now. I swear I am not stupid. Then again...🤔 Can’t wait to listen. It’s been a wild couple weeks around here!

We always called cicadas the "hot bugs" because the sound made the weather feel even hotter than it was already. Probably because the noise sounds like something being deep fried in oil.

Anyhoo: they're so loud around here, they make my ears ring. And there are cicada husks everywhere. The cats bring in live ones and play with them until they "break."

One of my many failed comic books featured a ground of fanatically narrow-minded women who called themselves Mothers Against Thought. The gift of prophecy...

My cousin and I used to amuse ourselves by trying to dream up an Amish porn movie. (Amish Schoolgirls in Chains, Lydia Does Lancaster, Rebecca Rides the Tourists, Hooray for Silos -- that sort of thing.) We never got past the first scene -- a windless day, an Amish farm, two Amish women staring forlornly at a stalled windmill that they had hoped to use to charge up their vibrators...

Amish Patriarch: Why do you keep asking the Lord to send a hurricane, Becky?

I want fall weather to get here quicker this year only because I want to transplant some elderberry bushes we found on the section of vacant/abandoned land connected to ours.* My husband's two aunts own that 2.2 acres, and his sister told him yesterday that they got an offer for it for $200,000, so no more personal park walks in a mini wildlife sanctuary. 😭😭😭 The dogs will be so bummed. We don't have that kind of money to match the offer. The bedrock sits only 1-2 feet under the dirt, so vast quantities of dynamite are needed to build here, or else it's going to be bulldozed and become something like a storage unit facility, maybe. We have no clue. Brian's aunts don't speak to him and we have no idea why. Sigh.

I know it's not the end of the world, and we're not going to be homeless or anything, but we've really been enjoying the combined 3.2 acres the last couple of decades. It's loaded with raspberries and mulberries and wild grapes, even morel mushrooms when the dogs don't find them first. We had a whitetail doe give birth here this year, and there's a mating pair of red foxes that hang around. It's going to be heartbreaking to see all that wild beauty bulldozed for profit; we're just really sad at the moment.

*Turns out you can just dig them up and replant them, but you have to wait until the leaves die back for the year.

I'm behind so this why I'm just now listening. I suffer from tinnitus as well and yes it SUCKS! Luckily up here in KY our "locust year" isn't till 2025. I feel your pain and hopefully you have a noise machine or something on a different frequency to drown them out.
