I love the idea of giving to charity. One year I got donation gift cards to give to family. They were Kiva gift cards. the family could then go to the website and look through different countries, people and needs to give a "loan".

Regarding the swearing.. it's great you are trying to swear less before the baby arrives... my sister uses the F bomb like it's a verb, noun, adjective and adverb. when she starts ranting almost every other word is F. BUT her kids do not swear.. and I know she talked that way in front of them.. it won't be the end of the world if you slip up...

I will use instead of the full word... the F..

Hang in there Cory. I nearly ended it all a couple of years ago. Thankfully folks saved me. It’s still a battle some days but I try to remember the good days. Peace

A little bit of random and meaningless regional info: In my part of the country “Go Dawgs” means “Go Huskies,” as in the University of Washington. 🐕🏈🏟

Great rant! Good idea to learn substitute curse words before the little guy joins you.

My husband and I quit giving each other gifts some years ago. All year long if we see something we want/need, we show the other person and say, “here’s my Christmas/birthday gift from you and I love it”.

While I don’t suffer from depression, I so admire your making public your issues and how you deal with it. That has to help more people than you imagine.

I always dread the holidays. Being the little blue dot in an ocean of red I just have to sit there with my mouth shut and listen to everyone’s BS or there gonna be a fight. I usually just leave very stressed out and on the verge of tears. On a brighter note, GO DAWGS!!

Another good one Corey. Happiness is what counts. Good days outnumber the down days. Be kind, be honest and forthright.

That definitely hits big.

This was the perfect listen for me today re: depression. So on point. Gonna start marking down the good stuff that happens to me and look back on it when the Big D (lol) hits me - like it did recently.

Excellent rant sir. Our family has gotten away from giving gifts. The youngest one in our family is 18 and he admits he would rather just be together to share a meal or good times at Christmas.
