I’ve only been summoned for jury duty twice. The first time I got out of it because my daughter was a baby. The second time, years later, I didn’t get out of it, but I had to call in each night to see if I had to actually go in. I never had to. Now that I’m retired, I WANT to serve on a jury! Summon me, please! 😁

In my state, they only ask you your profession and your spouces profession, nothing to get disqualified for. I sat on a murder trial once and it was pretty interesting.
I always get cut from the jury by telling them I used to be a cop, which makes the prosecutors happy and the defense want to cut me. Then I tell them that because used to be a cop, I know for a fact that cops lie about everything and that makes the defense happy and the prosecutor want to cut me. I have yet to sit for a trial.
