Listen now (14 min) | Hey y’all! Ranting into the void about how competitive I am against other husbands and how I think my generation is gonna make really good dads! Hope yall have a wonderful day!
Sitting here with my wife/best friend of 32.5 years listening to your show and having a drink. Totally agree and love that I'm not alone. Keep up the good work brother!
My wife and I have been married for 36 years and our time together is precious and takes work to do that. All worth it!
We have one son, 26 years old and he was hugged and kissed and has turnout to be a wonderful adult. As a child I was never hugged or kissed by my parents, who were also a product of their generation. Like you, we turned out okay despite this as my parents at any rate were good hard working parents that provided for us. My wife grew up in poverty but had a mother that was a sweetheart, her long dead dad was a jerk. She turned out alright though. We decided right from the get go that we would be more comfortable showing emotion and love right from his birth and forever.
We were right in doing this. The best thing any parent can do is tell your kids you love them and give as many hugs every day!
Can’t wait for your son to be born. You and your lovely wife will be great parents I’m certain. It’s gonna be fun for you and for us.
The day he is born I guarantee you will feel as if your feet aren’t touching the floor!
I have to tell you that I made butter for the first time yesterday! My granddaughter “helped” me (mostly by wanting to taste everything at every step.) Anyway, I think she must have been a southerner in a past life, because she drank the buttermilk and liked it!
