Your perspective is enlightening. Your hometown justice story, ending in death by doctor denial, is a doozy. Wow. I just cannot imagine that happening in my town but I can in my husbands small town. There is an “honor culture” thing I don’t get but am learning it is everywhere.

Trump ripped the bandage of forced civility off our country. He made it okay to say and do things that we were slowly teaching people not to do, at least publicly. It scares me how many people I thought were good people aren't. At least by my standards. I keep finding places like your fanbase and the Bitter Southerner folks and the Redneck Liberals and at least I don't feel so alone any more. We have to fight to make things better.
You speak truth. Humans are a conflicted, predatory species. We are capable of both great compassion/empathy, and great evil. Often within the same hour.
