This was so beautiful to read. My granny was from Kentucky and she called Ice Cream, Ice Milk. She was mean as a snake to everyone that wasn't her grandchildren. She loved us, overfed us and encouraged horror movie watching and laughter.
You were blessed to be able to spend time with your grannie. My mother's mother was in Japan and I only saw her in person once in my life. My father's mother ended up in Prison for shooting her husband (can you tell that was the Mississippi side of the family?) and I never even saw a photo of her. That being said, I feel your writing is wonderful and I see a book of yours published in the future, the near future. You got gift there, and you should be told so. xoxo
