This is excellent work. I like that I can’t figure it out ahead of the ending, haha. Seriously, I love all your work but your “radio plays” and this sort of episodic story telling are definitely in your fortés bucket. Muchas gracias for sharing them with us!

OMG, I had a Motorola Bag Phone in 1986. We weren't rich by any means, but I was an only child and my 1979 Audi 5000 broke down on I-280 in the hills in the middle of nowhere on a day in 1986. It took the California Highway Patrol two hours to find my distressed car on the side of the road, and another hour for a tow truck to get there.

My dad was in full panic mode with his only child out of communication for three hours, so shortly after this he bought me a Motorola Bag Phone to keep in my car for emergencies. I kept it until pocket sized cell phones came out a decade later.

The goal is for it to be novella length but who knows!

That last line had me pointing like Sophie Cunningham. Now, Sheriff Stevens, Mederma doesn’t work THAT fast on scars, motherfucker!

I didn’t know where Part 1 & 2 were headed but I’m glad this seems like it’s taking a turn into Uncanny Valley territory. I already feel the main character’s frustration that no one is going to believe him.

Somehow hearing a British robot read this just don’t hit the same. Will you be recording it soon? I’m a few days behind on the podcasts so forgive me if it’s tacked on this week. Thanks for all you do!

Corey Ryan Forrester's avatar

Hey hey! I started recording it last night but I’ve over exerted my voice this week so it’s not in great shape!

Hoping to have it out Tomrrow, but if it’s still not there (voice wise) then I’ll take a damn steroid shot and get it up over the weekend I promise!

No worries! I’m glad to know it’s in the works, and I’ll be listening whenever it’s ready. :) Take care!

Love reading your writing! I’ll be buying a book when you got one!!!

Corey Ryan Forrester's avatar

Got 2 actually! But they aren’t fiction! If I can’t work out a book deal for my next idea, I’m just going to self publish because you guys have given me faith that I don’t need to rely on the industry!

Perry's avatar

Where can get your non fiction books?

Corey Ryan Forrester's avatar

Anywhere they sell books!

The Liberal Redneck Manifesto (2016) -political book

Round Here and Over Yonder (2023?) - travel book (with the last third of the book written whilst in England and Scotland)

Cho, I am really enjoying this story. The cool thing is that I have no idea where it's going.

I hope so! It's a hoot so far!
