A Poem

When I think of all the things I’ve done

all the races that I’ve run

All the places that I’ve been

All the sins that I have sinned

All the times I’ve had to wait

All the cakes that I have ate

The times I haven’t made the grade

The grammatical errors that I’ve made

Yes, the one you’re thinking of

From just a few lines up above

I get the feeling I have failed

It’s lucky I have not been jailed

But ever forward I shall press

For at least my ego’s sake I guess

To be the best that I can be

Even in the morning at 4:30

when the only reason you’re hearing from me

Is that I had to get up and take a pee
